Finished Modern Maples!

I've been waiting with bated breath to share my finished Modern Maples quilt with you all!
If you are just stopping by you can see previous posts on this quilt here and here.
I should warn you now that this post will be a bit picture heavy!

I kept the quilting simple by shadow quilting a 1/4 inch from the seams on each block, and then diagonal lines through the the blocks in the direction that the leaves "fall".  I used my trusted Aurifil 50wt in Light Gray 2600.  That seems to be my go-to color these days-- I just feel like it both blends and contrasts so beautifully with everything.

After much personal ho-humming, I have decided to sell this quilt.  You can find it listed here in my Etsy shop.

  7. Love your quilt & it inspired me to make my own! I am in the process of quilting, and had in mind to follow your example. Did you find that it was 'enough' quilting once the quilt was washed and used a bit? Curious what batt you used. Thanks! Lovely quilt!

    1. Thanks Debbie! I can't wait to see your completed quilt. I ended up really loving that it was not densely quilted, it gives it a nice drape. It has not put to use currently as it's up for sale (I'm secretly hoping it doesn't sell and in another 2 months I can start using it!), but it has been put though the wash and did great.

I used Warm & Natural batting that I got at Joann's-- it is the batting I most often use and have never had a problem with it. Quilting can be done up to 10" apart. Hope that helps!
